Immigrant Song

A letra da música é dedicada a Leif Ericson, explorador Islandês do século X e XI, referindo explicitamente que (vem da Terra do gelo, onde se avista o sol da meia noite e brotam as nascentes de água quente / "We come from the land of ice and snow, from midnight sun where the hot spring blow"), e menciona as conquistas vikings e a antiga religião dos povos nórdicos (combater a horda, a cantar e chorar, Valhalla eu vou a caminho/ "To fight the horde, singing and crying/ Valhalla, i am coming").

"Ah ah

We come from the land of the ice and snow

From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow.

The hammer of the gods

Will drive our ships to new lands

To fight the horde singing and crying:

Valhalla I am coming!

On we sheep with threshing oar

Our only goal will be the western shore

Ah ah

We come from the land of the ice and snow

From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow.

How soft your fields so green,

Can whisper tales of gore,

Of how we calmed the tides of war,

We are your overlords.

On we sweep with threshing oar,

Our only goal will be the western shore.

So now you'd better stop and rebuild all your ruins,

For peace and trust can win the day

Despite of all your losing"

Robert Plant
